Is it realistic to have high-speed broadband Internet access in a Boeing aircraft, while flying above The Atlantic, so that the passangers could surf the web or watch satellite TV?
Or in an express train, while moving over 400 km/h, for same reasons?
Or even in a NATO fighter jet, while being up there, for the pilot to send and receive geographical information on the enemy campus targeted?
Some say No. Estonian company Modesat, developer of radio and wired communications technologies, says Yes, it’s no big deal.
Modesat has patented a simple, yet very smart technology of how to make traditional radio communication remarkably more efficient, sustainable and permeable. They call it PilotSync, I’d call it “The Magical Pilot Tone”!
Watch the video below - it’s my first vlogpost (video-blogpost) and it is a bit clunky - where Vice-President of Modesat, Tarmo Pihl explains the benefits of PilotSync in more detail. He also mentions some of the potential clients the company is approaching to (among others telecom giants Huawei, Ericsson, Alcatel etc, plus manufacturers Boeing and Saab) and describes the international presence of Modesat.
So the PilotSync Pihl talked about was born in Modesat’s development unit in Belarus, where majority of the technological brainwork is done. The main investor of the company is Ambient Sound Investments - seed investment company of the Estonian founders of Skype.
Modesat has just launched the international sales of its products. CEO of the company, Peep Põldsamm says though that even when offering a tremendous technological advantage, it is unlikely for the company to become ”a billion dollar business”. It’s just that before reaching that goal, Modesat would probably be aquired by a telecom giant. Because that’s how it usually works in this industry.

Toivo, nice try with video. However, first thing first: use external microphone. Clear voice/sound is almost always more important that video image itself.
Anyhow, good start!
Cheers,

Thanks for the advice.
Will try the microphone.
I just love it that I can excuse myself: I am a video-blogging beginner!
