To all of you, whose income is based on how many hours you work: Estonian start-up Toggl offers you a time management tool that can be easily used to track how much time is spent on different projects.
It’s a pretty good tool for consultants, lawyers, designers, programmers, accountants etc. As a journalist, even I might try it out, even just for fun, since I work on different “projects” – Eesti Ekspress, my Estonian weblog and TigerPrises.
Toggl is not just a timer that you use when boiling eggs. It has a diverse functionality. For example, you can switch between different tasks during the day, use the tool with different teams each working in separate workspace, invite your colleagues and customers etc. Toggl even has a desktop application that you can use without having to open the browser.
Alari Aho (pictured), the founder of Toggl is happy to say that already 1500 people use the tool (600% increase in 2008), 50% of them are located in US. People from Canada, Australia and UK have also discovered Toggl.
More functionality is added to Toggle after every two weeks, with the focus being on ease of use and compatibility with different management software and mobile devices. There’s even an experimental application for iPhone.
Majority of the Toggl’s functions is free to use for a team with less than 20 members. The unlimited Enterprise Premium subscription costs 99USD a month. Aho hopes to see “positive cash flow” by the end of 2009. All he needs is a good luck.
